Little Alchemy 2 Hints: Choose How Much of the Answer to Reveal

Pick a target, then reveal a direction, one ingredient, or the full pair. Stop as soon as you have enough to try. These are seven selected targets, with our own clues and official recipe sources.

  1. 1 · Direction
  2. 2 · One ingredient
  3. 3 · Full answer

Open this target’s official hint — this leaves the ladder and can reveal full recipes.

A small nudge before a complete answer

A direct recipe list answers “what do I combine?” This page answers a different question: “how much help do I want to see?” Each press opens just the next level. The first clue suggests a way to think, the second names one ingredient, and the third gives one selected official pair. You can stop between levels and return to the game without opening the remaining answer.

Our clues are editorial prompts, not quotations from the game or a prediction of what your library contains. Pick life, human, clay, energy, pond, tree or time. These targets were selected to exercise different hint cases: ordinary mixing, a repeated ingredient, a route with an unlock, and an unlock without a mixing recipe. This is a small teaching set, not an A–Z catalogue.

Three separate doors: direction, one ingredient, then a complete answer. The player decides when to open each door.
One deliberate reveal at a time. A full answer is not the default screen.

Changing the target always returns the ladder to zero, even if you had opened a full pair on the previous target. Hide all clues does the same for the current target and returns keyboard focus to the first reveal button. Refreshing also starts again. Reveal choices are not stored, and this page does not read or alter the separate recipe guide’s checklist or your game save.

When to use the official personalized hint instead

The official hints site already offers personalized help based on game progress after watching a video. Its personalized-hint page is the appropriate place to look for that game-aware service. This independent ladder does not reproduce that service, import progress, or guarantee that a selected target is your next available discovery.

If you want the complete pair immediately, use our Little Alchemy 2 recipe guide. Its ingredient checklist and route exploration serve the direct-answer problem. If you want to preserve some discovery, stay here and open only the next clue. An official source link can reveal several recipes at once; the tool labels that boundary so it is not mistaken for another gentle reveal.

What our reveal checks showed

We checked the ladder’s state transitions on October 22, 2026. The test input was a selected target and a reveal level, rather than an invented player inventory. For each selected target, the initial view contained neither a clue nor a pair. Advancing once exposed the direction only. Advancing twice added the ingredient or unlock guidance. The full answer appeared only at the third level.

Action in our toolExpected visible resultWhy it matters
Open life, then reveal onceDirection onlyNo ingredient name is printed by that reveal.
Reveal a second levelOne ingredient, no pairThe complete answer remains closed.
Reveal the third levelOne complete selected pairThe button stops advancing.
Switch from an opened answer to clayZero levels revealedThe new target inherits no reveal state.
Choose energyA repeated-ingredient caseOne ingredient can strongly suggest the second; clues are not a promise of zero inference.
Choose time and open every levelUnlock guidance, no pairThe tool never invents a recipe for this special case.

The repeated-ingredient case makes the limit of a hint ladder clear. Naming one ingredient can be enough for a player to infer the whole answer. The control delays the printed pair; it cannot prevent that inference. If even a named ingredient would spoil the puzzle for you, stop at the direction. Hide all clues can clear the screen afterwards, but it cannot make you forget information you have already read.

Target switching is another useful boundary. A global “show answers” setting would make a fully opened life hint expose the next target too. Our ladder instead treats each selection as a fresh question. This also applies when you switch away and return to the same target: it is hidden again. The reset is deliberate, not an indication that your actual game progress has been lost.

An opened target changes to a new target with zero clues exposed. The game library remains separate.
Reveal state belongs to the current question; it does not follow you into the next one.

The time exception: stronger hints without a made-up pair

Time demonstrates why every target should not be forced into the same recipe template. Its official hint describes a progress unlock. The page checked here does not give an exact discovery threshold. Our third level therefore explains the unlock instead of filling an empty pair with a guess.

The selected tree route has a different limitation: it uses time as an input. Revealing that pair does not make time available in your game. The note appears with the full answer, so the earlier clues remain small. If you do not have the required input, either investigate that input or check the official tree page for other alternatives. The ladder is not a completion plan from the starting four.

Separate three questions: how much to reveal, whether the ingredients are available, and whether an item unlocks through progress.
Hint strength and ingredient availability answer different questions.

Questions about using less revealing hints

Can I get a nudge without seeing the recipe?

Yes. Reveal a direction and stop there. These are our own prompts for the selected targets. The second button press is a stronger commitment because it names an ingredient; the third prints the pair. The tool does not automatically advance while you read or after a timer.

Does choosing a target mean I can make it now?

No. Selection says what you want help with, not what your library contains. This ladder has no inventory input. Use the separate recipe guide when you need to inspect prerequisites. Keeping those decisions separate avoids presenting a gentle clue as a claim that a recipe is immediately usable.

Why is the full answer hidden again after switching targets?

Each target starts a new question. The reset prevents an earlier decision to reveal everything from exposing a later answer by accident. It does not remove discoveries from the game, touch saved progress or change the recipe guide’s checklist. You can reveal the same levels again whenever you choose.

Why is time missing a pair?

It is the intentional exception. We use the official progress-unlock explanation rather than fabricating two ingredients. The absence of a pair is part of the answer. It is not a loading error or evidence that trying random pairs will uncover a recipe hidden by this guide.

Selected sources and scope

The six mixing targets use one selected pair each from the official hints for life, human, clay, energy, pond and tree, checked October 22, 2026. Time is a separate unlock case. Alternative pairs are intentionally left to the official source, rather than printing an answer list below the ladder.
